GREETINGS FRIENDS

Welcome to the First Edition, a cohort of vibrant, seasoned women who focus on community service, giving back and preserving the NWC Clubhouse, a historical structure in the heart of downtown Napa.

Throughout the year, members handcraft approximately 1,800 holiday greeting cards that are delivered with meals to homebound recipients of Meals on Wheels. 

The First Edition also hosts an annual fundraiser event – the Spring Craft Affaire & Plant Sale.  This event was rescheduled and re-branded as the Fall Craft Affaire this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Some members sell their crafts and art at the show; other members grow and sell household plants.  All proceeds from exhibitor/table rental fees and plant sales underwrite Napa Valley College Nursing Scholarships.

More than $300.00 are donated annually to Pennies for Pines to help restore National Forests.

Members also donate time (volunteer hours), goods and treasury (monetary contributions) to various nonprofits such as the American Cancer Discovery Shop, the local food bank, Community Projects and Loving Animals Providing Smiles (LAPS).

An open invitation is extended to visitors and newcomers to the club’s monthly lunch meetings (usually on the second Tuesday of the month, from 11:00am to 2:00pm).  The club observes a summer recess in July and August.  Yearly membership dues are only $35.00.  Break bread with the First Edition, stay for a short meeting and join in the fun of making greeting cards.
