GREETINGS FRIENDS

Welcome to the First Edition, an extraordinary collective of vibrant women who are passionate about community service, giving, and the preservation of the historic NWC Clubhouse in downtown Napa.

Throughout the year, our members dedicate their time and creativity to handcraft approximately 1,800 holiday greeting cards. These heartfelt cards are not only beautifully designed but are also paired with meals that are delivered to homebound recipients as part of the community action program Meals on Wheels. It’s our way of spreading joy and kindness, ensuring that those in need receive nourishment for both body and soul during various celebratory times of year.

In addition to our dedication to community service, we are thrilled to host our annual fundraiser event—the Spring Craft Affaire & Plant Sale. Our talented members, local artisans, and regional vendors showcase their crafts and artworks, while others contribute by growing and selling a variety of household plants. The proceeds from exhibitor fees and plant sales are used to support Napa Valley College Nursing scholarships, making a positive impact on the future of healthcare.

The First Edition is also proud to contribute to environmental conservation through our annual donation of over $300.00 to Pennies for Pines, a program aimed at restoring our precious National Forests. We understand the importance of preserving nature for future generations and actively support this cause.

Furthermore, our members generously donate their time, goods, and financial contributions to several nonprofits, including the American Cancer Discovery Shop, the local food bank, Community Projects, and Loving Animals Providing Smiles (LAPS). We believe in lending a helping hand to organizations that work tirelessly to make a difference in our community.

We extend an open invitation to visitors and newcomers to join us at our monthly lunch meetings, typically held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Share a meal with the First Edition, attend a brief meeting, and experience the joy of creating greeting cards together. Our club observes a summer recess in July and August, but we eagerly anticipate your presence during the rest of the year.

Membership with the First Edition offers a wealth of opportunities and connections, and yearly dues are only $35.00. We warmly invite you to become a part of our community, where we share a common goal of making a positive impact through service, creativity, and camaraderie.

First Edition

APRIL 23-25: ART SHOW & BENEFIT

Join us at our historic clubhouse for a very special three-day Art Gallery Show & Benefit Sale supporting the Napa State Hospital Volunteer Community Advisory Board. This event kicks off Mental Health Awareness Month with a vibrant showcase of painting, photography, and ceramics.

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m., welcoming the community to experience the exhibition. Gallery hours continue Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with artwork available for purchase throughout the weekend.

Guests are invited to participate in a Taste & Paint Fundraiser on Friday evening, as well as Saturday programming, including a guest speaker and a community art activity in celebration of Napa State Hospital’s 150th anniversary.

Proceeds benefit programs that enhance the lives of patients at Napa State Hospital.
